Greg Rutherford is one of Britain’s greatest ever long jumpers, an Olympic, World, European, and Commonwealth champion who at his peak held every major outdoor title in his discipline. A household name since his gold medal on “Super Saturday” at the London 2012 Olympics, he went on to win further medals at Rio 2016, set British records, and establish himself as one of the most consistent performers in global athletics. Known for his determination and showmanship, Greg has become a sought-after speaker and media personality, admired for his ability to inspire and entertain in equal measure.
Sport came naturally to Greg from a young age. He excelled across multiple disciplines, from rugby to tennis, and was even scouted for a football trial with Aston Villa as a teenager. Choosing to focus on athletics, he quickly made his mark, becoming the youngest-ever long jump champion at the AAA Championships in 2005. That same year, he claimed European Junior gold with a British junior record jump, setting the tone for a career that would redefine British long jumping. Within a few years, he was competing at the Beijing Olympics and winning senior medals at European and Commonwealth level.
Greg’s crowning moment came in London in 2012 when he soared to Olympic gold in front of a jubilant home crowd, an achievement immortalised by a golden postbox and commemorative stamp. He went on to dominate the discipline, winning the World Championship in 2015, back-to-back European titles, and Commonwealth gold, making him only the fifth British athlete to hold all four major titles at the same time. He also set a British outdoor record of 8.51 metres and an indoor record in 2016, cementing his place as one of the finest jumpers in history. For his services to athletics, he was awarded an MBE and later received the European Athletics Lifetime Achievement Award.
Since stepping back from competition, Greg has become a popular television personality, appearing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Celebrity MasterChef’—which he won in 2019—and ‘Dancing on Ice’ in 2024. He has also worked as a pundit, broadcaster, and podcast host, sharing his expertise with sporting and mainstream audiences alike. As a keynote speaker, Greg draws on his experiences of resilience, discipline, and performing under immense pressure, delivering powerful talks that motivate audiences to pursue their goals with focus and passion.

“We were very pleased with speech day. Greg gave a great speech and I’m sure the children will remember the phrase “fat don’t fly” for years to come! He was very generous with his time meeting the children, posing for photographs, etc after his speech. Thank you for your efficient organisation.”
“All went well thanks, the boys were a big hit with the ladies, and Simon had a full dancefloor for his DJ set. All pretty easy to work with as well. Greg was superb, such a nice guy, he had a standing ovation when he came in after our intro !! I will definitely use him again if the relevant conference needs someone like that. Top bloke.”
“A quick email to thank Greg again for everything he did on 7th November at British Rowing’s training base. SAS couldn’t have been happier and feedback from athletes and staff has been absolutely glowing.”
