Christian Horner CBE is one of the most accomplished figures in motorsport leadership, renowned for his transformative impact on Formula One through a relentless pursuit of high performance. From humble beginnings in karting to becoming the strategic force behind one of the most dominant teams in modern F1 history, Christian’s career reflects not only competitive excellence but an enduring commitment to innovation, resilience and team culture at the highest level of sport. Christian’s professional racing career began after winning a coveted Formula Renault scholarship, progressing through British Formula Three and eventually establishing himself in Formula 3000. Recognising his greatest strengths lay in leadership rather than the cockpit, he founded Arden International at the age of just 23 – an ambitious privateer team that would go on to win three International F3000 Team Championships. His tenacity and eye for talent caught the attention of Red Bull, who appointed him Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing in 2005, making him the youngest team principal in Formula One history. His first major move was securing design legend Adrian Newey, laying the foundation for a new era of success.
Under Christian’s leadership, Red Bull Racing evolved into a global benchmark for high-performance culture. He oversaw the team’s first golden era, guiding Sebastian Vettel to four consecutive World Drivers’ Championships and delivering four back-to-back Constructors’ titles from 2010 to 2013. Christian later orchestrated a second period of dominance, this time with Max Verstappen, achieving Drivers’ Championships in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, alongside Constructors’ triumphs in 2022 and 2023. Over his tenure, Red Bull achieved 124 Grand Prix victories – the second-most ever by a Formula One team principal—cementing Christian’s legacy as a high-performance strategist who thrived under pressure and cultivated elite teams.
In 2025, Christian stepped aside from Red Bull following a shift in team direction, concluding a remarkable chapter that redefined the possibilities of modern F1 leadership. Honoured as an OBE in 2013 and later promoted to CBE in the 2024 New Year Honours, Christian continues to influence sport and business as a keynote speaker.
