Dave Coplin is a globally recognised voice on the future of work and the relationship between humans and technology. As Microsoft’s first Chief Envisioning Officer and founder of The Envisioners, he has spent over two decades advising leaders, governments and organisations on how to unlock potential through digital transformation. A TED speaker, bestselling author and regular commentator for outlets including the BBC, The Guardian and CNN, Dave inspires audiences to embrace innovation while keeping humanity at the heart of progress.

Dave’s career began in technology services before he joined KPMG in 1997. Over a 13-year tenure, he rose to become Director of Technology Architecture and Research for KPMG Global, gaining deep expertise in aligning business strategy with digital solutions. In 2005, he moved to Microsoft as an Enterprise Strategy Consultant, beginning a 12-year journey with the technology giant. He went on to hold senior roles including Senior Engagement Manager, National Technology Officer and ultimately Chief Envisioning Officer, shaping strategy for some of the world’s most influential organisations.

In 2009, alongside his Microsoft role, Dave founded The Envisioners, a consultancy dedicated to helping organisations adapt to emerging technologies and reimagine the world of work. His leadership extended into the boardroom through non-executive directorships with Mitchells & Butlers, Vianet Group Plc, and later the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association. As the author of Business Reimagined and The Rise of the Humans, his writing has influenced global conversations about digital transformation, while his engaging talks, such as his acclaimed “Re-imagining Work” for the Royal Society of Arts, have reached audiences worldwide.

Dave is a sought-after high-performance speaker because he reframes the narrative of technology, rejecting the idea of “humans versus machines” and instead highlighting how the two can work in harmony. With humour, clarity and insight, he motivates leaders and teams to embrace disruption, cultivate creativity and unlock new opportunities. His message is clear: high performance in the modern era comes not from fearing technology, but from placing people at the centre of innovation and empowering them to achieve more.

“Dave Coplin gave an inspiring presentation. It made me realise how much we are tied down by our desktop and mobile devices and how we seem to be working longer, rather than working smarter. I’m going to look at how I work and how I can get technology to work for me, not the other way around.”
