Joining the British Sailing Team as a teenager, she first competed internationally with Sophie Weguelin, gaining valuable experience and earning a bronze at the 2015 470 European Championships. Although narrowly missing selection for the Rio 2016 Olympics, this period of her career shaped her resilience and hunger for success.

Her breakthrough came when she partnered with Olympic champion Hannah Mills following Rio 2016. The duo quickly established themselves as a force, winning silver at the 2017 World Championships and gold at the 2019 World Championships in Enoshima, the Olympic venue. Their partnership peaked at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where they delivered a commanding performance to win gold in the women’s 470 class, making Eilidh and her father the first British father-daughter pair to both win Olympic gold in sailing. In recognition of her sporting excellence, she was appointed MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours.
