Former F1 Mechanic, Marc Priestley has lived life in the fast lane as part of one of the world’s most demanding sports. In 1998, Marc joined the fast-paced world of motorsports, when he became a Race Mechanic for Speedsport F3 – providing his services as a mechanic in the British Formula 3. He later went on to become the Chief Mechanic of Orbit Motorsport, leading a team of mechanics in the Italian Formula 3000 Championship. In 2000, Marc made his debut as a Formula 1 mechanic, becoming the No.1 Mechanic for McLaren Racing. As a pitlane mechanic, Marc soon adapted to performing under pressure, forced to ensure he maintained high performance at all times. In such a demanding, fast-paced, high performance sport, Marc had little margin for error and knew that small mistakes would have large consequences.

In 2009, Marc was recruited as the Race Team Manager of Formula Two Ltd. In this role, he was responsible for managing 40 mechanics, both setting up and running the FIA Formula Two Championship. Leaving the world of motorsports behind in 2010, Marc focused his interests on writing and speaking about motorsports, contributing to Formula 1 commentary and pitlane reporting for the likes of Sky Sports F1, the BBC and ESPN Star Sports TV. He has also shared his expertise as an F1 Expert for TalkSPORT Radio and is now currently the Co-Presenter of Wheeler Dealers for the Discovery Channel. In addition, Marc has also authored his own book The Mechanic: The Secret World of the F1 Pitlane, and is the Director of Motorsport & High Performance Engineering for Flexegraph.
