Martin Perry

Martin Perry is a professional Scottish para table tennis player, motivational speaker and Planet Ambassador for the International Table Tennis Federation. Ranked among the top twenty players in the world, Martin is a two time British Champion who has earned more than fifty one international medals throughout his career. Born with congenital limb loss and deformity, meaning he has no hands and one leg, Martin has become an inspiring example of resilience, determination and elite performance. His journey from a young sports fan to an internationally recognised athlete makes him a highly sought after speaker on high performance, overcoming adversity and achieving success against the odds.

Inspired after watching the Great Britain Paralympic table tennis team as a child, Martin became determined to pursue the sport professionally. He dedicated himself to mastering the game and combined his sporting ambitions with a strong interest in community development and inclusion. In 2013, he worked as a coach for the Special Olympics of Great Britain before graduating from the University of the West of Scotland in 2015 with a BSc in Sports Development. That same year, Martin was invited to train full time with the British Para Table Tennis Team, marking a major turning point in his career. By 2017, he had become a full time British Para Table Tennis athlete and helped secure a team bronze medal at the World Championships. His rise continued in 2019 when he won the British Championships and helped Great Britain claim team gold at the European Championships.

Martin has continued to build an impressive international career, earning bronze medals at the World Championships in 2022 and both singles and doubles bronze medals at the European Championships in 2023. His success carried into 2024 with further podium finishes at the Czech Open and Polish Open. Alongside his sporting achievements, Martin has taken on influential ambassadorial and leadership roles, including serving as an athlete representative for British Para Table Tennis. He has also partnered with a variety of organisations, including a major collaboration with Kangen Team UK. In 2025, Martin expanded his profile further by speaking at the Sport Positive Summit, acting as MC for the Scottish International Parkinson’s Open and representing the ITTF as a Planet Ambassador.
