Martine Wright, MBE, is a powerful voice in the world of speaking, known for her resilience, optimism, and ability to inspire audiences of all backgrounds. As a survivor of the 7/7 London bombings and a former Paralympian, Martine speaks with raw honesty and heartfelt passion about overcoming adversity, embracing change, and unlocking human potential. Before becoming a speaker, Martine had a career in marketing and lived a typical London life. Everything changed on 7 July 2005, when she lost both legs in the Circle Line bombing. Her recovery was long and gruelling—she was the last survivor rescued, lost 80% of her blood, and spent ten days in a coma. Yet, it was through this experience that she found a new purpose. Martine took her first steps with prosthetic legs, learned to walk again, and eventually discovered sitting volleyball, joining the Great Britain women’s team in 2009. Her determination and positivity became the foundations of her speaking work, where she draws on real-life experiences to deliver authentic and uplifting messages.

Martine went on to represent Great Britain at the London 2012 Paralympics, just seven years after the attack that nearly took her life. Her story captured national attention, and in 2012, she received the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. She was appointed MBE in 2016 for services to sport and was named Inspirational Woman of the Year by Zest magazine. Martine has also authored her autobiography, ‘Unbroken’, which won Autobiography of the Year at the 2018 Sports Book Awards, and regularly appears on television as a presenter and commentator for major sporting events.
