Beginning her professional career in the British Army in 1985, Nicky fulfilled a variety of regimental and staff appointments during her initial years serving the country. Advancing to become an Instructor, Team Coach, and Mentor for The Army Staff College, she trained the Army’s future commanders and staff officers for employment. Recognised for her driven mindset, Nicky fulfilled a variety of high-profile positions throughout her career, including becoming the Private Secretary to the Secretary of the State of Defence, Director of Personnel Administrative Capability, and Head of Pay and Strategic Manning for the Armed Forces. With vast amounts of industry knowledge and experience behind her, Nicky decided to take a step back from her career in the Armed Forces in 2012.
Since exiting the Army, Nicky has focused her career on sharing her leadership knowledge with audiences as a Leadership Development Expert and Executive Coach. In recognition of her remarkable career, she was appointed CBE during the 2012 New Year’s Honours for her services to the Army. During the same year, Nicky also became the Founder of What Good Looks Like, an organisation which helps companies make sustainable and transformative improvements. A respected figure within the community, she made her debut television performance on ‘Secret Agent Selection: WW2 (BBC) /Churchills Secret Agents (Netflix). Admired of her need to achieve peak performance, Nicky illustrates key messages through her online media presence.
