Described by Sir Richard Branson as ‘Heroic. Epic. Inspiring. Historic’, Roz Savage is a revered sailor who emulates high performance. The first, and only so far, woman to row solo across the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Ocean, Roz inspires all to achieve what is often deemed ‘impossible’, through her expertise on high performance. Having spent the first decade of her career working in management consultation, Roz swapped the office for the ocean and spent seven years rowing the deep blue. Roz is now highly sought after as a high performance speaker who shares stories from her time as an ocean rower and her top tips on achieving high performance.
Having graduated from Oxford University, Roz spent the first 11 years of her career navigating the corporate world of London as a management consultant. Having experienced an environmental epiphany, Roz left the corporate world behind to follow her dreams of ocean rowing, spending five months alone at sea, navigating the hostility of the ocean in a 23-foot rowboat. Evolving on a personal level, Roz learned the ins and outs of achieving high performance, and soon forged a reputation as the World’s foremost female ocean rower.
Crossing 15,000 miles of ocean, Roz redefined what lay in her comfort zone, continually pushing herself to perform optimally – relying on her own high performance to get her back to dry land. Building her knowledge and experience in creative problem solving, smart decision making, accurate risks assessments and remaining calm under pressure, Roz was awarded with recognition as Adventurer of the Year by National Geographic in 2010. Other prominent awards of Roz’s have included being named a World Fellow at Yale in 2012 and being appointed MBE for Services to Fundraising and the Environment. Roz has also shared her story as a bestselling author, having written the titles The Gifts of Solitude, Rowing the Atlantic, The Ocean in a Drop and Stop Drifting, Start Rowing.
Today, Roz is a highly sought after high performance speaker for corporate events. Combining a unique mix of self-taught skills and anecdotes form her time at sea, Roz has spoken to thousands of people across the globe on how to cultivate high performance mindsets and high performance leaders. Featured in The New York Times, The Evening Standard and The Guardian, Roz is revered for inspiring audiences with her perspectives on neuroscience, personal development, psychology and leadership. “Roz was energetic, passionate, engaging and real. Her connection with both our employees and our clients, and the dialogue it sparked both within the room and beyond was tremendous. Everyone left with a little optimistic spring in their step, inspired to make changes and live their lives a little differently. It was an amazing experience to share her world for that hour.”
“Our time together was very special for us. You are a natural presenter and so quick on your feet. You adapt to the audience and your delivery is so natural. You make it appear effortless which is the mark of a true professional. I was taking presentation notes the entire time you were with the WPO chapter.”
